29-year-old Cartersville man shoots up home, went to high school with homeowner

Last Tuesday, Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 29-year-old Cartersville man accused of firing five shots into a home while the homeowner was inside. Luckily, no one was hurt. A video showed a light blue Mazda 6 driving by the house during the shooting.

Police tracked the suspect to a home in Cartersville, where a SWAT team arrested Timothy Gregory and found three guns, one matching the caliber of the shell casings found at the crime scene. The homeowner told deputies she had no idea who would shoot at her house or why, but investigators revealed Gregory went to high school with one of the homeowners. They do not know the motive yet.

Gregory is being held without bond and charged with aggravated assault, firing a gun near a road, first-degree criminal damage to property, gun possession, and unauthorized use of a license plate.
