A 30-year-old woman followed a car for nearly 15 miles, from Villa Rica to the Chapel Hill Road exit on I-20 east, before shooting a 17-year-old girl sitting in the passenger seat in the head. The shooter had her children in the car with her, aged 4 to 9, and went to get her nails done after the shooting.
According to the victim’s mother, the road rage incident reportedly started when the victim’s car cut off the suspect; then returned the middle finger at the suspect. The suspect, Brittney Griffith, turned herself into Douglasville police after her photo was shared on social media.
Griffith is charged with four counts of aggravated assault, three counts of third-degree cruelty to children, and one count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. The teen victim was taken to a hospital in stable condition where she is expected to be released.
